Advocates for Solidarity’s mission consists of two main goals. First, it aims at helping people better understand the Solidarian perspective, particularly people who may not yet be very familiar with it. One way we aim to accomplish this goal is through introductory-level articles such as “What is a Solidarian?” and our ongoing series on Common-Good Values. We hope with these articles to make a convincing case that what America needs is solidarity, not culture wars.
However, there is also a need for the cause of solidarity to grow beyond a theoretical ideal and into a practical, effective political movement. That’s where our second goal comes in. Advocates of Solidarity also aims to equip already-convinced Solidarians to advocate for the Solidarian Option. It’s important that Solidarians not only know that solidarity is a good idea; they need to be able to make that idea a reality.
To this end, Advocates of Solidarity is presenting its first practical advocacy guide—the Digital Advocacy Toolkit! The Digital Advocacy Toolkit is a template that Solidarians can use to spread actionable information to supporters in order to motivate and equip them to make Solidarian ideas a reality. Check out the attached PDF document for the template and information on how to use it, as well as a sample Digital Advocacy Toolkit so that you can get an idea of how to use it.
In the near future, Advocates for Solidarity plans on releasing a series of other practical resources covering a whole range of advocacy items—from conversation guides to talking points to political strategy. We hope that these resources will be useful in helping make the Solidarian Option a reality.
